My first ever swift

The best husband ever made me a swift today, using this tutorial. I’ve ordered a ball winder and will report back when I’ve tried them together.

Finally, the Cecilia Cardigan, originally published in Yarn Forward Summer 2008, is also available as a Ravelry Download or directly here on the Blog (you don’t have to be a Ravelry member to purchase the pattern).
You can see more pics on Flickr.

Mmmm, yummy Malabrigo Sock Yarn… one of them will have the privilege of becoming Damson.
I’ve been meaning to update you on my usage of Facebook and Twitter which I joined simultaneously a couple of months ago. Now, I’ve used them both for a while, it turns out I love Twitter for interacting with fellow designers and fiber enthusiasts of all kinds and I prefer Facebook to be about real life friends. Just so you know, if you want to know all about my ramblings concerned with yarn, follow me on Twitter. I only write in English there and it’s mostly about yarn related things (some personal tidbits thrown in). On Facebook I’ll keep my real life friends and I won’t turn away fiber friends either (if I feel I know them well enough to almost know them in real life, if you know what I mean), but there I mostly post in French.
Here’s my progress on Ishbel. I just put it on my newly acquired Addi Lace Needles. And while I think I like them a lot (nice joints, pointy points), I think I’ll put it back on my Holz&Stein rosewood needles that are just nicer to hold in this heat.

Another pair of pajama pants from Heater Ross’s Weekend Sewing, kid’s size S/M. I used an old jersey nightie of mine I didn’t wear, but that had a fun fabric.

Another little “tablier croisé”. My daughter absolutely wanted one, too, after seeing the other ones I made. She chose the fabric all by herself. A part from the fact that it doesn’t go well with her dress (she insisted on putting it on right away) I think it’s very cute. I imagine it very well over a long-sleeved T-shirt in the fall. I need to make her a couple more of those.

Et hop, un petit peu de couture, deux tabliers croisés des Intemporels pour bébés:

Toutes les photos ici.
A little update: It’s hot. I’ve ordered toggles for Roo. I started Ishbel in Malabrigo Lace. I finished one sock and put the rest back into the hospital bag. I am thinking of knitting Damson next. I am drooling over the Vine Yoke Cardigan in the new Twist Collective (I am big fan girl of Ysolda patterns these days).
So, what about my own designing? The yarn turned out not to be available where I had ordered it from. So, 3 weeks later I ordered it from another source (that actually sells stuff they have in stock) and now I am waiting to get it in the mail. But I have to be honest, I just love to knit, knit, knit other people’s patterns right now. And I don’t see anything wrong with that either.
