Deadline Crocheting

Well, I can’t really show what I am frantically working on, but I am frantically working on it, be assured. At least, when I am not eating and sleeping, which I do an awful lot these days.
I have 3 deadlines in the near future, only one of the pieces is complete, one about half and the third is playing “2 steps forward, 3 steps backwards” with me. And then there’ll be all the patterns to finalize.
As always, when I have to stick to certain projects in order to be able to meet my deadlines, this is when I have the most ideas for future designs. I keep taking notes and making sketches which I put in a folder for later. It’s torture not to be able to at least swatch any of them right now.
Cecilia is done, too, but I still don’t have any buttons.

A French Doily

For the last couple of years, since we have kids really, we rented holidays homes like those you can find on Gîtes de France.
I think all of them, or at least most of them, had some crochet in the form of doilies. Even though I am personally no fan of doilies, I always found that they added some cosiness to the place. Here’s one of those we found this last holiday near Bayeux.
And don’t get me wrong, I love to see those, and I can totally appreciate every minute of work and the craftsmanship that went into it. It’s just that I wouldn’t know what to do with a doily in my own house.

Why I was offline for 2 weeks

Sorry for the long absence. Some little piece in my computer died and took my network and so my Internet connection right with it. A couple of days later, we went on a holiday to Normandy. Now I am back home, back on the Internet and am trying to catch up on e-mail, blogs, Ravelry etc.
Also, yarn for 2 projects with looming deadlines arrived during my absence. So I am rather busy.

I’ve finished a sweater, you just have to believe me

I just finished a big project, a sweater; here are some of the ends. It’s all done. But I won’t show you. I have it submitted somewhere, so I can’t. But the husband will be very happy indeed, his grey sweater is seriously falling apart now and he desperately needed a new one.
