Cast on

I cast on for the new husband sweater. As with everything these days, it turns into a designing exercise, so I won’t show you much more until it’s done.

This is my first time using Cascade 220 and I really enjoy this yarn.

The sweater will be rather simple. He doesn’t know what he wants, but he definitely knows what he doesn’t want. We keep having conversations like this:

Me: Let’s talk about your sweater. What do YOU want?
He: Oh, whatever, you are the designer, do whatever you think is best.
Me: Can I place a cable on it?
He: Are you freaking kidding me? I said “do whatever you want”, not “make me a girl’s sweater”.
….

Old sweater, new yarn

I think someone really needs a new sweater. After almost 3 years of constant wear, the first ever husband sweater is starting to wear out. Luckily, the yarn for a new one already arrived.

Lollipop

Well, well, not many decided to help me out with a name. However, I decided to go with “Lollipop”, I like it and I don’t have a better idea. So that means a free pattern for Dawn (who commented on juliavaconsin.com) and one for Linnea (who commented on the myblog blog; I really need to sort out this hosting thing).

Anyway, the pattern is almost ready to go, all it needed was a name (and a better picture of the adult version, but I’ve given up on that, because I just don’t look good in hats, note to self: stop designing adult hats).

The new Knotions

The new Knotions is out! Now I can finally share the rest of my pictures with you:

New Patterns on the Web

You’ve probably all seen that the new Twist Collective is up. What a fantastic issue! So much I would love to have in my wardrobe. But I am utterly and totally in love with the Sylvi Coat. I’ve always wanted a woollen coat, and that’s just about the most gorgeous and interesting I have ever seen or imagined.

There’s also a crochet pattern in this issue, the Elissa Hat and Scarf Set by Amy O’Neill Houck. It is free until February 1st.

Also up is the Winter Preview of Interweave Knits which, honestly, doesn’t do it for me, no ‘must-knits’ here.

Striped Hats

While I was away, my computer got a make-over. It’s booting faster now indeed, but there are still a few bugs. I hope everything will be running smoothly soon because I really would like to release this pattern in time for some holiday crocheting. It’s written in 5 sizes from baby to adult.

I still need a good name, though. Any suggestions? The winning entry could get the pattern for free. What do you think?

Back

So, I am back, got another cold, finished and sent of the magazine project. Next up is (among other things) dealing with chickenpox for the next 3 weeks or so and writing the pattern.

Something I can show you is a camera cozy for my new cute and tiny camera. I used Lorna’s Lace Sock Yarn.
