Well, well, looks like I’ve been sewing. That first picture is deceiving because I didn’t actually finish anything. Half way through the sewing process which had its fair share of broken thread (no broken needle this time), it started to get ugly. The thread would end in the tangled mess you see pictured below every couple of stitches, I don’t know…, around 5 or 6 times.. I then managed to sew a few stitches in a row and the back side looked all strange and loopy and horrible. After that, I gave up. I am not even mentioning the puckering, the wonkiness etc. because that at least is something I could get better at with some practice.

I found the cute pattern at Chickpea Sewing Studio after seeing this cute one by knitlady.

Not the greatest pictures, but I finally managed to sew those zippers in.

Thanks to Sandrine we are now sure what the problem is. The solution will be to change to a different hosting service which we are looking into at the moment. There’s light at the end of the RSS tunnel.

I also have an FO for you, one I finished quite a while ago, but one that will is now available in the Crochet Liberation Front First Ever Book. This is Malabrigo Lace weight, lovely stuff to work with.
I will also make this available as an individual pattern in a couple of weeks. But if you buy the book, you get a whole lot of other great patterns, plus articles and stuff. I can’t say much more, as I haven’t seen the book yet. There are a couple of pictures on the Crochet Liberation Front Blog. I’ll keep you posted once I know more.

Vielen Dank an Sandrine für ihre Informationen bezüglich dem RSS Debakel. Nun wissen wir mit Sicherheit, woher das Problem stammt. Mein Provider macht ganz einfach keine richtige Weiterleitung von wegen DNS und so (man sieht, ich kenn mich aus, haha). Die Lösung wird sein, einen anderen Provider zu nehmen und dann wird das hoffentlich bald auch alles so funktionieren, wie ich mir das vorgestellt habe.

One of the designs in the upcoming Interweave Crochet stood out particularly to me. The Ridge Swing Cardigan by Robyn Chachula.
Not only, because I love this cardigan and would be thrilled to add it to my wardrobe, but also because the stitch pattern reminded me of something I had in mind myself a couple of months ago. In fact, I was planning to submit a cardigan design to the same issue of IC with a similar stitch pattern. In the end, it didn’t get developed any further, but to prove it, here’s my swatch. Anyway, I just thought this was funny.

Une des choses qui m’ont frappé qu’on j’ai vu le nouveau Interweave Crochet est le gilet Ridge Swing Cardigan de Robyn Chachula. Pas seulement parce-que je le trouve superbe et j’aimerais bien le rajouter à ma garde-robe, mais aussi parce-que j’avais quelque chose de très similaire en tête il y a quelques mois. En fait, j’avais même prévu de le proposer pour ce même numéro d’IC. Mais finalement ça ne s’est pas fait, mais pour le prouver, je vous montre mon échantillon. Bref, moi ça m’a fait rigoler.

Diese Jacke (Ridge Swing Cardigan) von Robyn Chachula fand ich bei Ansicht der neuen IC besonders interessant. Das hat mehrere Gründe. Erstens gefällt sie mir ausgesprochen gut und ich hätte sie gerne in meinem Kleiderschrank. Zweitens hatte ich vor ein paar Monaten etwas ganz ähnliches vor, eigentlich wollte ich das sogar für dieselbe IC Ausgabe vorschlagen. Daraus wurde aber dann doch nichts, aber zum Beweis hier meine Maschenprobe. Lange Geschichte, kurzer Sinn, aber ich fand’s witzig.

Just to give you another view of the Northern Dreams Pullover, worn by myself. Although this sweater is intended to be worn with some negative ease, this is definitely too much, that’s 4” of negative ease here, between 0 and 2” should be perfect, I think.
Luckily I have my prototype in my size which I have already worn over and over again at the end of last winter (I finished it in March). It’s made out of Plassard Alpaga with a 3.5 mm hook.

Voilà encore une fois mon Northern Dreams Pullover, cette fois-ci porté par moi-même. Même si ce pull est censé c’être près du corps, là, c’est un peu trop. Là, le pull mesure 10 cm de moins en tour de poitrine que moi, entre 0 et 5 serait idéal à mon avis.
Heureusement, j’en ai un autre qui me va beaucoup mieux, le prototype que j’ai fini en Mars dernier. Il m’a déjà beaucoup servi. Il est fait de Alpaga de Plassard, avec un crochet de 3.5 mm.

Noch mal eine andere Ansicht meines Northern Dreams Pullover, diesmal an mir selber. Zwar sollte man diesen Pullover genau oder etwas kleiner als seinen Brustumfang planen, aber das geht dann doch zu weit. Hier sind es 10 cm Unterschied, zwischen 0 und 5 wären besser.
Zum Glück habe ich noch meinen Prototyp, den ich im März diesen Jahres fertig gestellt habe. Der passt mir doch gleich viel besser.
Dieser ist aus Alpaga von Plassard mit einer 3.5 mm Häkelnadel gehäkelt.

Non, je ne vais pas m’énerver du tout, c’est la rentrée, c’est le système scolaire français, j’y peux rien, j’y comprends rien….
Donc, sans transition et sans rapport quelconque, voici une vieille photo que j’ai trouvée l’autre jour qui montre mon Ocean Pearls Cardigan (Ravelry Link) quand j’étais en plein dedans. C’est la table à manger, un de mes endroits (avec le bureau et l’ordinateur) pour travailler.

It’s back to school day here in France and I am trying very hard not to get too upset about all the confusing and annoying stuff that comes with it.
So (just to talk about something completely different), … the other day I found this picture of my Ocean Pearls Cardigan (Ravelry Link) in progress and I thought you might like to see how I work. This is my dining table, one of the two places (the other one being my desk with the computer) I am working on my designs.

Heute hat hier die Schule wieder angefangen und ich bin leicht genervt, um es milde auszudrücken. Das Meiste fällt mir ja hier gar nicht mehr als anders auf, aber manchmal möchte selbst ich einfach meine Koffer packen, was Unhöfliches gegen ein ganzes Land brüllen und nach Hause fahren….

Um nicht weiter daran zu denken, hier ein Bild, was damit überhaupt nix zu tun hat. Das war meine Ocean Pearls Cardigan (Ravelry Link), als ich heftig daran gearbeitet habe. Das ist mein Esstisch, einer von zwei Arbeitsbereichen für diese Dinge (der andere ist natürlich mein Schreibtisch mit Computer).

Je déménage. C’était prévu depuis un petit moment de le faire en Septembre, pour la rentrée. Tant pis si tout n’est pas prêt, tant pis si je ne maîtrise pas encore tous les aspects de Wordpress, mais à partir de maintenant on me trouve ici : www.juliavaconsin.com
